Faith #3

I gave a Family Home evening on the principle of faith and told my children about the faith I have that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. An example I have of prayer is one time we had let Sienna play with Matt's wedding ring on the trampoline. She accidentally dropped it off and we searched all over in the area it appeared to have been dropped. After a few minutes we decided to say a prayer to find it. As soon as we opened our eyes, we looked down and it was right in front of us. A simple prayer over something simple and replaceable but Heavenly Father heard our prayers and answered them. I do have Faith that all the things Heavenly Father has asked us to do, are for our own benefit. I have Faith that if I try my best to teach my children the importance of scriptures, prayer, tithing, family home evening, that they will know its important and want to do it on their own. They are such awesome example to me and their little spirits are eager to learn about the gospel an...

Knowledge #1

Someone who is wise will be willing to hear what others have to say and will listen to/obey them. The more knowledge we try to attain the more knowledge that will be given to us. We build up our knowledge on past experiences. We can never attain enough knowledge. As you teach you learn. Learn about all sorts of different things. Whatever amount of knowledge we gain in this life, it will come with us in the afterlife and will be a great advantage to us. As a mom now I am teaching my kids about gospel principles. If I don't have a knowledge and understanding of them how would I be able to teach them? A simple example is perhaps this. As a primary teacher we had a classes of 6-7 year olds. One child came from a family that is a little chaotic, doesn't come to church often and is likely not being taught gospel principles in her home. She had no idea how to pray. Often children might still need a little help in saying a prayer but she didn't know how to open or close a prayer....

Good Works #2

I remember doing this one as a youth. Well I remember the cooking part. I remember not liking it very much. It was harder then I thought it would be. Especially because I had never really cooked anything before! And my dear mother had to endure me cooking in the kitchen. She had the hardest time watching me try and cook as it wasn't the way she would do something. She often left the kitchen and let me figure it out on my own. I don't remember any meals being unedible. So I must have done okay. Now as a wife and a mother this is my life. I do this for more then 2 weeks. I do this every day 365 days of the year. And it is hard and sometimes I wish I didn't have to do it, but I love providing good meals for my family. I know it would be much easier to eat out or buy pre made food but my families health and our finances are much more important then me getting to take it easy. It is such a blessing to serve my family in this way. I love hearing the kids say this is the best thin...

Individual worth #2

Why do we get a patriarchal blessings? They are to help guide us in this "wilderness" while we are away from out Heavenly home. They tell us our linage and tell us things we can be prepared to do. But it is all conditioned upon our faith. They an only be given my a patriarch who has been set apart to give them. Ways to prepare to get them would be praying about them, learning more about patriarchal blessings, talking with family about it, and setting up an appointment to get on. A patriarchal blessings can teach my of my worth because it comes from Heavenly Father and he knows me better then I know myself. It reconfirms to me that I am a child of God and tells me about qualities I posses that I don't even realize, or ones that I could have if i developed them more,
